After being closed for almost 2 years, it was pure joy to reopen and be back in action for a full season. The reconnection with guests who have ventured with us in the past and many of you, for decades, brought forth a true homecoming. For those who ventured to the yurt for the very first time this year, welcome to the Blue Moon Yurt family!
What brought additional magic to the yurt season this winter was the addition of a fire pit on the deck. We’ve always encouraged our guests to mingle with each other and find that thread of connection between themselves. It happens all the time inside the yurt, but with a huge, beautiful deck that surrounds the yurt offering spectacular views and open space, we found that the fire pit was the new social scene.
It wasn’t uncommon to hear, “Hey, where are you from?” “Have you been here before.” “Oh, do I have a story for you.” The fire pit connected the inside of the yurt to the outside where guests would watch the night sky, telling their stories and sharing themselves with each other. It’s a beautiful thing to watch from our view, that connection, and it’s why the Blue Moon Yurt continues to exist.
We’ve always loved what we do and now with our location in Jug Mountain Ranch, we’ll be able to expand the yurt experience into other seasons. This is on the doc for the future and still in the works. Obviously, you can’t ski into the yurt in other seasons, but you’ll be able to hike or bike to the venue with numerous trails that access the yurt. Dining on the deck is the goal and who doesn’t love sharing a meal with others outside?
So, look to our events page for the latest and greatest scoop. We’ll keep you updated as the seasons unfold. For now, the yurt has been put to bed after her fabulous winter season. She’s resting and getting ready for more future Blue Moon Yurt ventures!
Cheers everyone and stay connected!
